The University has many facilities to help student's have an positive experience. Clubs and Society's were highly encouraged, adding to the University's social aspect. I like to believe no student was ever bored on DCU grounds. Lecturers were very helpful and understanding and were in good communication with the students. There were frequently held talks so students could broaden their horizons/ learn something outside of the lecture halls and engage with speakers. It also helped that the students at DCU were of the best caliber. They were friendly, good spirited and always wanted to help a fellow student out. They weren't competitive or spiteful and believed in unity among themselves. I can honestly say my experience at DCU was one of great pleasure and I could not be more devastated that my experience was cut short by the lockdown in March. Also - the learning experience being switched to online, I believe, was not do daunting due to the help and understanding of the lecturers.

My experience at Dublin City University was overall a great one. I met like minded people who were passionate in the same things I was, who weren't afraid to give me a helping hand when I needed one. My lecturers, tutors and senior staff in the Physics and Mathematics department were talented and dedicated to teach us their area of expertise. They were always around to give help and to ensure you left the lecture room understanding the material. This was especially seen when one of my lecturers allowed me to work alongside him for an internship, making sure I didn't get lost along the way. Outside my course and department, the Student's Union surpassed themselves every year I studied there. From having a program for students who wanted to drop out to give them the extra support they needed whether that was financial support or just somebody to speak to, to also holding consent courses for every student to make sure it was a safe place to study for all.
