“Having a real sense of adventure through having the experience of meeting people from other countries, such as Korea, France, Lithuania, Nigeria, India and Italy, has been a real highlight for me so far during my time at UCLan. Yes there are challenges, like having to write in academic English just when you think your English is good, you have to go up a level. But I have found all of the Tutors and Professors to be really nice, more like friends, which adds to a supportive and chilled environment. I chose to study at UCLan for a number of reasons. Firstly, I wanted to try a different area of England, instead of just London. I wanted to experience different people and a different accent."

“I cannot choose one specific thing that has been the most enjoyable part of my UCLan experience so far, but I am really enjoying the learning style. I like the fact that I have just two days of classes per week, with the rest of my time being focussed on self-study – this is new to me and at first it was challenging to adapt to. At home in Poland it’s completely different because there are classes from 8am until 8pm and you can be asked to learn an entire book on which you will be tested and graded. Here in the UK, books are suggested to you and it is in your own interests to read it – at first it was hard to find the motivation to self-learn instead of watching Netflix!"
